Abstract:
This research aims to analyze the influence of job stress and workload on employee performance, with affective commitment as a mediating variable. The population of this study was all 98 employees of the Semarang Regency Land Office. The samples were taken using the census method. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using a path model processed with SPSS.
The research results show that job stress and workload negatively and significantly affect affective commitment. Furthermore, affective commitment has a significant positive effect on employee performance; the higher the affective commitment, the better the employee’s performance. Job stress and workload have a significant negative effect on employee performance. Meanwhile, the results of mediating variable analysis using the Sobel test show that affective commitment can mediate the influence of job stress and workload on employee performance.
