Abstract:
The concept of future-proofing has gained importance in recent years as it ensures the sustainability and resilience of institutions in the face of potential future disruptions. Private higher education institutions in the first district of Albay, Philippines, are no exception, and must identify their future-proofing priorities to secure their longevity and relevance. The study aimed to identify the future-proofing priorities of these institutions based on the variables of technology, curriculum, and partnerships. Through a mixed-methods approach that combined surveys and interviews, the study found that private higher education institutions prioritized technology integration and innovation, ensured curriculum relevance to industry demands, and formed strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders. These priorities reflected the need for private higher education institutions to remain competitive and relevant in the face of disruptive technological advancements and shifting industry demands. The findings of this study could guide private higher education institutions in the first district of Albay, as well as other similar institutions, in their future-proofing efforts to secure their sustainability and relevance.
