Abstract: This study focused on the technical support strategies employed by the public elementary school heads to the teachers of the Division of Legazpi City. The study was conducted in one city in Albay, under the School Division of Legazpi City, Albay. The technical support strategies employed by the public elementary school heads to the teachers of the Division of Legazpi City. Public elementary school heads in the Philippines employ a range of technical support strategies to assist teachers in improving their teaching practices and navigating the challenges of delivering quality education. the study aims to Determine the profile of the school heads in terms of number of years as administrator, present position, training on supervision, Examine the strategies employed by school head on providing technical support along: content, pedagogy, assessment of learning, learning resources, professional development of teachers, Identify the challenges faced by the school heads in providing technical support among the strategies employed, Appraise the significant relationship between the strategies employed and challenges faced by the school heads and proposed an intervention plan to improve the provision for technical support. This study is premised on the following assumptions, technical support of the school heads strategically implemented in public elementary schools, School heads have various strategies in providing technical support in public elementary schools, School heads have their own challenges faced in teaching and learning providing technical support in public elementary schools. The Department of Education encourages school heads to prepare and implement a program to address the challenges faced by the school heads in providing technical support in public elementary school. The School Head Intervention Plan prepared used in evaluating the teacher’s performance. The descriptive method of research utilizing survey questionnaire was used to gather data needed for the study. Forty-three (43) Public Elementary school composed of nine hundred ninety-seven (897) Teachers and forty-two (43) school heads were the respondents of the study. Frequency count, percentage, weighted mean, and Spearman’s rank-order correlations were the statistical tools used in the analysis and interpretation of the data. There is no significant relationship between the between the strategies employed and challenges faced by the school heads. A intervention plan that is aimed to improve the provision for technical support as Long-term sustainability intervention with continual improvement in technical support for teachers, led by well-equipped and supported school heads. |
