Title: APPLYING DEA METHOD AND MALMQUIST INDEX IN EVALUATING THE BUSINESS PERFORMANCE OF SECURITIES COMPANIES LISTED ON THE VIETNAM STOCK MARKET

Abstract:
The study was conducted for the purpose of analyzing the business performance of listed securities companies in Vietnam. The applied approach includes Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and evaluation change in Total Factor Productivity (TFP) through the Malmquist index. The results show that during the research period, no securities company maintained absolute efficiency 1. In which, there are 4 securities companies including FPTS, BSI, VND, SHS with fairly uniform technical efficiency, nearly reaching 1. Results from measuring the Malmquist index also show a slight decrease in average productivity, with the change in the total productivity caused by technological progress being the largest.
